We are delighted to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 7 July 2026. As a staff team, we are incredibly proud that inspectors found that Exbourne Church of England Primary School is meeting the Expected Standard across all areas, with our provision for Inclusion recognised as a Strong Standard and an area where we are demonstrating capabilities beyond the expected standard. Safeguarding was also confirmed to be fully effective.
The report captures so much of what makes our school special and reflects the dedication of our pupils, staff, governors, trust colleagues and families. We are especially proud that inspectors recognised the caring, inclusive and ambitious culture that we strive to create every day.
Some of the comments that particularly resonated with us include:
"Pupils are proud to be part of a warm and welcoming school where inclusion sits at its heart."
"Pupils feel safe and well cared for."
"Pupils at this small rural school benefit from positive and meaningful relationships with staff, who are ambitious for their achievement and success."
"Across the school, pupils are consistently polite and kind to one another."
"Parents are highly supportive of the school and the staff. They value the close relationships staff have with pupils and say their children thrive at this school."
The inspection team also highlighted the strength of our support for pupils with SEND and those who are disadvantaged, noting that these pupils "thrive at this school" because of the ambition, expertise and care shown by staff. They also recognised our strong reading provision, positive behaviour, high levels of attendance, and the wide range of opportunities we provide to enrich pupils' personal development.
While we are celebrating this positive report, we also welcome the clear next steps identified by inspectors. We are already working on strengthening pupils' recall of key knowledge across the curriculum and creating even more opportunities for children to develop independence, resilience and leadership skills.
As a staff team, we feel immensely proud of what has been achieved together. The report reflects a school community that lives out its values every day and demonstrates our vision; "With faith, we flourish and learn."
