Collective Worship and Spirituality
As a Church of England school we consider it important that all pupils have a sound understanding of the Christian faith and belief, and pupils take part in a daily act of collective Christian Worship.
In accordance with legal requirements (Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998), an act of collective worship, taking into account of the age, aptitude and background of the pupils is provided daily for all pupils, except those who are withdrawn by parents. The school expects that withdrawal will only be made following discussions with the Principal, followed by written confirmation of withdrawal. Special arrangements will be made to supervise children withdrawn from acts of worship. In addition, staff have the right to withdraw from the act of collective worship.
"The arrangements for the required collective worship may, in respect of each school day, provide a single act of worship for all pupils or for separate acts of worship for pupils in different age groups or in different school groups."

Our Core Christian Values
The expectation is that everyone in our school community:-
- Follows our school Golden Rules
- Respects our core Christian Values
- Shows courtesy, care and respect for others
- Is honest and truthful
- Works and plays together cooperatively
- Moves about the school in a quiet, orderly manner
- Has respect for school property and the property of others
Spirituality
At Exbourne C of E Primary School, we take a values-based approach to teaching and learning as well as how we conduct ourselves around the school. We encourage all members of our school community to display acts of love and kindness, show respect to each other and to listen to and respond to needs.
Our vision drives and supports the ethos of our school and the policies and practices within it. We believe that spirituality is the golden thread that runs through our school. We attach great importance to it for both children’s development and for the growth and well-being of all within our school community. Spiritual development is supported through collective worship, the curriculum, the school environment and how we interact with ourselves, others, the world and the beyond through stillness, creativity, curiosity and big questions.
