Our Values and Ethos
School Christian Values
'Let us spur one another to acts of love and good deeds.' Hebrews 10:24
At Exbourne C of E Primary School, we take a values based approach to teaching and learning as well as how we conduct ourselves around the school. We encourage all members of our school community to display acts of love and kindness, show respect to each other and to listen and respond to needs.
We focus on six core Christian values: RESPECT, THANKFULNESS, PERSEVERANCE, COURAGE, COMPASSION and FORGIVENESS.
Each half term we focus on one of these core values in our spirituality work, through collective worship and in our approaches to how we treat one another. Our ‘Values champions’ are constantly looking out for our values being displayed around the school.
Our values based approach aims to improve behaviour, conduct and self confidence by developing strong values and beliefs within the pupils at our school. We develop pupils’ understanding of what values are and why they are important in life so that they grow to become positive members of our wider community and beyond.
