PE and Sport
All of our children get to take part in a variety of activities and sports throughout the academic year, some of which are led by either teaching staff or outside coaches. We have strong links with OCRA (Okehampton Community and Recreation Association) and every year we take the whole school for 12 weeks of swimming lessons at Aqua Stars.
We attend a number of events, hosted by neighbouring primaries, such as Cross Country, Multi-skills, Orienteering, Tag Rugby, Cricket, Rounders, Football and Netball. For the children in Key Stage 2 there is also the opportunity to join the Dartmoor Federation netball and football teams.

PE and Sports funding
The Dartmoor Federation (Primary) PE and School Sports Funding
The Dartmoor Federation aims for all children within each Federation school to be happy, healthy and confident. We will ensure that the sports funding will be used to allow children to be active, well, and happy, therefore becoming successful learners with high goals and aspirations in life.
Primary PE and Schools Sport Funding
The funding received by schools comes from three Government departments: Department for Education, Department of Health, and the Departments for Culture, Media and Sport. The funding goes directly to Primary School Head Teachers to spend on improving the quality of Sport and PE for all children. The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.
